Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is celebrating what would have been Elvis Presley's 90th birthday with special activities all year long.
"Love Me Tender" month in February will include romantic room and dining packages, restaurant specials and other Elvis-inspired celebrations.
Viva Las Vegas Month in July will have live music, themed events and exclusive promotions that re-create the energy of his legendary Vegas shows.
A suite tribute
The Viva Las Vegas Suite, inspired by Presley's style and music during his time in Las Vegas, will be unveiled during the summer.
"The King," born Jan. 8, 1935, began his residency at Westgate Las Vegas (originally the International Hotel) in 1969. He performed 636 sold-out shows over seven years.
A ceremony on Jan. 8 this year kicked off the festivities. Cami Christensen, president and general manager of Westgate, and David Stanley, Elvis' stepbrother and star of the Westgate show that celebrates Presley's memory, led employees and Elvis fans in a Champagne toast in the lobby. Fans signed giant birthday cards.
"My Brother Elvis: An Evening with David Stanley," is scheduled to be staged once a month throughout the year.
