The Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway each will undergo significant updates during drydocks scheduled this winter, said Norwegian Cruise Line. The changes include new spaces at NCL -- a top-deck recreation area and a theater where cruisers can dine and watch movies.
The introduction of Horizon Park
Following the Bliss' drydock from Jan. 17 to Feb. 2, the ship will have a new outdoor venue on the top deck, Horizon Park. The gathering space will offer a variety of activities such as cornhole and a giant Jenga stacking tower. There also will be reclining loungers for sunbathing in a laidback environment.
Restaurant changes also are coming to the Bliss. An expanded Cagney's Steakhouse will replace Mexican cantina Los Lobos, an expanded Teppanyaki will replace the Coco's dessert shop, and Palomar will replace Ocean Blue. Palomar is the seafood specialty restaurant that premiered on Norwegian Prima in 2022.
Top suites in The Haven, NCL's ship-within-a-ship luxury experience, will be updated on the Bliss. Premiere Owner's Suites with Large Balconies will have three bedrooms; three-and-a-half baths; a separate dining room overlooking The Haven Horizon Lounge; and fully refurbished living areas, master bedrooms and outdoor balcony furnishings.
NCL said it is responding to demand for the three-bedroom category in The Haven, first seen on the Norwegian Prima and then expanded to the Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Encore in 2024.

NCL also is adding 24 balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms on Deck 15, repurposing a portion of the Observation Lounge to create the necessary space.
Once the ship completes a two-week dry dock, the Bliss will embark on a 13-day itinerary on Feb. 2 from Southampton, U.K. to Miami, before sailing the Western Caribbean from Miami in February 2025; the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles in March 2025; and Alaska from Seattle starting in April.
Debut of the Silver Screen Bistro
The Norwegian Breakaway will undergo enhancements from Feb. 19 to March 14. The ship is getting the Silver Screen Bistro, a movie and dining venue for guests of all ages.
Replacing the Spiegel Tent, Silver Screen Bistro will feature oversized recliners and retractable tables. NCL will serve shareable, handheld menu items, including dishes from Food Republic, a specialty restaurant with Asian and Latin flavors.
There will be no charge to enter Silver Screen Bistro, however guests who order food will be charged a la carte prices or expend their dining credit. Guests can expect Silver Screen Bistro to show classic and recent movies.

Like the Bliss, the Breakaway will feature the Horizon Park recreation area on the top deck. The Breakaway's Horizon Park will have a stage for live music and other entertainment.
Due to its popularity on the Prima-class ships, NCL is putting The Stadium on the Breakaway. The Stadium offers complimentary outdoor activities and family-friendly games.
For dining, Cagney's Steakhouse will expand, replacing Brazilian restaurant Moderno Churrascaria. Palomar will replace Ocean Blue.
Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only outdoor venue will be expanded with additional seating and cabanas. The Haven's sundeck will get a similar expansion.
Following the completion of a three-week drydock, the Breakaway will sail a variety of itineraries from Barcelona and Venice (Trieste).
