Tanzanian-owned hospitality group The Wilderness Collection will open a luxury tented camp in Serengeti National Park this spring, marking its second property in the region, following the successful launch of Craters Edge in Ngorongoro last year.

Warangi Ridge Lodge, scheduled to welcome its first guests on June 1, will feature 20 tented suites perched atop a granite cliff, offering panoramic views of the Serengeti's iconic savanna, grasslands and kopjes (ancient granite outcrops that dot the landscape). The property's design draws inspiration from the endangered pangolin, incorporating elements that reflect the local ecosystem.

Camp features

Each luxury tent will include a private deck with plunge pool, while two family-focused, two-bedroom suites will cater to multigenerational travelers. Guest accommodations feature king-size beds, free-standing bathtubs and outdoor showers, blending traditional safari atmosphere with modern luxury.

The camp's location, about 25 miles from the Seronera airstrip, places it strategically along the Great Migration route, promising year-round wildlife viewing opportunities. The property sits within both the Serengeti Cheetah Project study area and the Tanzania National Parks Authority Research Area, underlining the company's commitment to conservation efforts.

Activities will include daytime and nighttime game drives, river walks along the Orangi River, specialized bird walks and nature walks. The property will also offer child-friendly activities for guests ages 5 to 15.

The main lodge area will house a library, lounge bar and restaurant, complemented by wellness facilities including a yoga deck, open-air gym, and spa. An infinity pool will serve as the property's centerpiece, overlooking the Serengeti plains.
