JetBlue has changes in the works for its extra-legroom product in economy.
The first change involves merchandising. Beginning in mid-November, the carrier will make its Even More Space seats prominent in the booking path, offering them directly when customers make flight queries. Currently, flyers only get the opportunity to upgrade to Even More Space during the seat-assignment process.
That move will be a prelude to JetBlue shortening the product's name to EvenMore as it creates an extra-legroom bundle. The airline said it will offer more details early next year, prior to launching the new product. JetBlue said the bundle will feature "new benefits and amenities."
The extra-legroom bundle will be another JetBlue initiative to increase revenue. Last month, the carrier announced plans to open its first two lounges in 2025, in Boston and New York JFK. Also last month, JetBlue made its basic economy fare more inclusive, allowing passengers to stow a carry-on bag in the overhead bin. And early this year, the carrier began charging for the selection of preferred aisle and window seats behind the Even More Space seats.
