Holland America Line is planning a $70 million expansion of its Alaska lodge in Denali over the next three years.

Work will begin in 2025 with improvements to the riverside interpretive trail with scenic viewpoints and improved on-site wayfinding. The line will also update its the menu at the restaurant and make improvements at the Cottonwood and Canyon Lodge guestroom buildings.

In 2026, HAL will remodel 48 rooms in the Denali Lodge, add a coffee shop and expand the Karstens Public House with more indoor and outdoor seating.

Construction on a 120-room building with suites and standard rooms is slated for 2027. The line will also renovate the main lodge to include a new restaurant concept, a new lobby bar and an improved coffee experience.

HAL offers open-jaw itineraries that connect the cruise and land experience via a scenic ride on the glass-domed McKinley Explorer train.
