It's really about realizing we can own a piece of each other's successes, and in so doing, learn to become successful ourselves.

she made everything easy. I wrote the script, then focused on directing and producing while Sharlyn choreographed the attack scene and handled the stunts and special effects, other than make-up, which was done my none other than WIF/Seattle member Melanie Melanie. I couldn't be happier with the results and am looking forward to releasing One Night on the festival circuit in the coming year.”

In addition to Sharlyn and Melanie, WIF/Seattle member Sarena Schumacker worked on One Night as Key Grip. Stay tuned for announcements about festival screenings of One Night in 2009.

The idea of One Night came about one morning as Laura Jean was musing about the idea of what one would feel like the next morning after having taken someone's life. How would you go about your morning? From there she just needed to come up with the Who? How? And Why?

One Night is Laura Jean's sixth short film. John Gill, Block Party, Leave It!, Genie, and Free Parking have played at festivals all over the world including Palm Springs Short FF, Outfest, Frameline in San Francisco, The New Festival in New York, and Gay and Lesbian Festivals in Melbourne, Australia, Paris, Bologna, Milan, New Zealand and London. Block Party and Free Parking have been official selections and premiered at Seattle International al Film Festival. Laura Jean also screens frequently at Post Alley Film Festival in Seattle.
