It's really about realizing we can own a piece of each other's successes, and in so doing, learn to become successful ourselves.

ROCKIN' ROBIN

How I Survived
a Robin Williams Movie

Script notes
from on the set of

World's Greatest Dad

Robin Williams is exactly how you would imagine him to be: always doing a standup comedy routine! Most of the crew found themselves six jokes behind, just trying to keep up with Robin's incredible quick wit.

But Robin took the young cast under his wing; he and Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids) have some very emotional and difficult scenes - Daryl's character, Kyle, accidentally kills himself. But when director, Bobcat Goldthwait (Shakes the Clown) called “cut,” Robin and Daryl immediately launched into comic sparring. It was fun to watch a 17-year-old keep up with Robin's quick humor.

The cast of World's Greatest Dad is full of great comics. In addition to Bobcat and Robin Williams there is Tom Kenny (the voice of Sponge Bob), Toby Huss, Mitzi McCall (McCall & Brill comedy duo), Morgan Murphy (Jimmy Kimmel Live), Tony V (State and Main), to name a few.

Some of our favorite takes resulted when Bobcat would simply instruct the cast to improv and “go crazy.” Believe me, they did.
And one of the most memorable scenes for the crew was Bruce Hornsby performing “Mandolin Rain” live. The work has its perks.

World's Greatest Dad, a dark comedy, is being entered into Sundance Film Festival with a (hopeful) 2009 wide distribution.

(In addition to WGD, Barbara has been busy with Digital Kitchen, Superfad, and PBJS, and traveled to LA to work on the pilot “Glee” for Fox TV, and she directed a video for Art with Heart. See member updates for details.)
